Is this site safe is a Chrome extension by AI4Context. It checks a website URL only when you ask (current tab or a pasted URL). It does not monitor browsing in the background and does not show automatic alarms.

Data we process

• The URL you choose to check (from the active tab when you open the extension or tap “Check this tab”, or text you paste). Tab URLs are read only on your request via the tabs / activeTab permissions—not continuously.
• UI language preference in chrome.storage.local on your device.

What we do not do

• No continuous tab monitoring or history collection.
• No account login required for the core feature.
• We do not sell your data.

Checks and third parties

When you run a check, the extension sends that single URL to AI4Context servers (ai4context.com), which query Google Safe Browsing Lookup API on your behalf. The API key never ships inside the extension. AI4Context may also apply on-device heuristic checks (HTTPS vs HTTP, suspicious host patterns). We do not keep a browsing history and do not sell URLs.

Honest limits

A green result means no known alerts in the sources used for that check—not a guarantee that a site is safe. An orange result means we cannot confirm. A red result means a threat signal matched Safe Browsing or local rules.
